Contract School-Based Special Education Teachers - Multiple Openings - Summerville, SC

Are you a dedicated and certified Special Education Teacher looking for a rewarding contract opportunity in a supportive school district? We have multiple full-time and part-time openings for the 2025-2026 school year in Summerville, South Carolina – a charming town known as "Flowertown in the Pines." Location: Summerville, SC

Discipline: Special Education (SPED) - Multiple Openings

Dates: 2025-2026 School Year (August - June) On-site ONLY

  • Special Education Resource Teacher (.5 FTE and 1.0 FTE options)
  • Special Education: Autism Teacher (Multiple openings, including one at Gregg Middle School)
  • Special Education: ID Mild Teacher
  • Special Education: ID Moderate Teacher (Including one at Oakbrook Elementary School)
  • Special Education: Cross-Categorical/Resource Teacher
  • Special Education: Preschool Teacher
  • Special Education: Employability Math Teacher
  • Special Education: ID Severe Teacher

Job Duties May Include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Providing direct instruction and support in various settings (resource room, self-contained classroom, inclusion).
  • Conducting assessments and analyzing data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction.
  • Collaborating effectively with general education teachers, parents, administrators, and support staff.
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Maintaining accurate and compliant student records.

Special Requirements:

  • Active South Carolina Special Education (SPED) certification is required.
  • The district will require a copy of your SC SPED Certification.

Compensation:

For these contract positions, the average hourly rate is $30-$40 based on experience .
