Job Description

A bold new women’s sports podcast is launching, hosted by Abby Wambach and Julie Foudy - two icons of women’s sports and forever teammates on and off the field. As former captains of the U.S. Women’s National Team and National Soccer Hall of Fame inductees, Abby and Julie will host the ultimate party championing the joy, power, and community of women’s sports. The show will also regularly feature Billie Jean King , THE OG Legend of all legends, as a frequent contributor offering her singular perspective and voice.

The show will release two episodes per week and cover everything from soccer to WNBA, rugby, hockey, volleyball, new leagues, established leagues, and more. It will blend highlights, athlete interviews, cultural commentary, technical analysis, watch-alongs, and behind-the-scenes storytelling - all delivered in a voice that’s smart, fun, celebratory, and deeply connected to the movement around women’s sports.

We’re looking for an experienced Producer who’s passionate about women’s sports, lives and breathes this space, and knows how to shape fast-moving, culturally relevant content across video, audio, and social. You’ll work directly with Abby in LA, Julie (remotely), and their internal team to build out the show week to week, ensuring it remains as electric and essential as the athletes and moments it covers.

Roles & Responsibilities

Lead the weekly production process (2 episodes/week) across video and audio, including:

Pre-Production

  • Support team’s internal producer with episode and guest development, ensuring focus is on sports events, moments, and topics that will best fit the show
  • Offer strategic insight and trend foresight to help the podcast grow, stay culturally relevant, and meet audience needs

Booking Coordination

  • Coordinate all guest booking logistics - including scheduling, calendar updates, liaising with guest teams for tech checks, collecting bios and media assets, and securing release forms

Production

  • Produce weekly in-person recordings in LA with Abby, while managing remote coordination with Julie. Oversee both the creative and technical execution across in-studio and remote sessions

Editing & Post-Production

  • Work closely with post-production manager on episode edits, ensuring polished video and audio episodes with consistent branding, music, and transitions
  • Prepare and send title options for selection and approval by hosts
  • Copy edit episode title, description, and guest bio

Ad Trafficking & Integration

  • Collaborate with the post-production manager to ensure all video ads are placed accurately and seamlessly within each video episode, in alignment with sales team direction
  • Place audio ad markers at designated insertion points and uploading finalized audio ad spots delivered by post-production
  • Traffic ad/sponsor assets to the sales team

Distribution & Delivery

  • Publish and distribute finalized video episodes and associated clips to YouTube, including show notes
  • Publish and distribute finalized audio episode to show’s RSS feed, including show notes
  • Manage Editorial Calendar
  • Send airing details and assets to the guest before launch
  • Track weekly and monthly downloads

Marketing & Social

  • Work closely with the social media manager to develop a detailed social calendar
  • Plan and record buzzy social teasers for new episodes
  • Stay tapped into what’s trending across the women’s sports world - and use that awareness to help shape, script, and record social-first content that promotes the show in timely, resonant, and platform-specific ways
  • Liaise with Apple/Spotify/ etc. to ensure placement features and marketing
  • Submit to podcast awards annually

Manage cross-functional team communication:

  • Act as liaison between hosts, post-production, and social media leads. Own the flow of notes, assets, approvals, and deadlines
  • Ensure a smooth, on-time operation across every part of the production pipeline. Be the go-to person for keeping the train running and solving problems before they arise

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience producing high-profile podcasts
  • Strong experience producing video podcasts - including multi-cam remote, in-person, and live shoots
  • Deep knowledge of the women’s sports world to ensure every episode is informed, relevant, and connected to the larger sports/cultural landscape.
  • Proven ability to manage tight turnaround timelines - this is a fast-moving, topical weekly show that requires quick decision-making, efficient workflows, and calm under pressure.
  • Experience working directly with on-air talent, shaping conversations and creating a comfortable, confident production environment
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills
  • A deep understanding of how to produce dynamic content that speaks to the cultural moment

This Role Is For Someone Who:

  • Thrives in both creative and logistical roles - equally comfortable shaping the story and managing the schedule
  • Is proactive, fast-moving, and can stay cool under pressure
  • Brings deep knowledge and love for the world of women’s sports
  • Cares about clarity, chemistry, and connection in conversation
  • Knows how to make things better - tighter, funnier, smarter - in real time
  • Loves building something joyful, meaningful, and community-centered, week after week

This is a major opportunity to help shape a brand-new show from three of the most iconic voices in women’s sports - building something joyful, timely, and community-driven from the ground up, and bringing it to life across video, social, and beyond.

Submission Guidelines:

  • To apply, please send your resume, a brief cover letter, and links to past work (shows you've produced, video clips, or anything relevant) to jobs@TreatMedia.com
