Job Description

The Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care. As PIC, you have a critical role at the forefront of delivering our purpose, modeling our values, and demonstrating genuine, authentic care for our patients. You are accountable for supporting the management, oversight and operation of all aspects within your pharmacy. This includes:

• Supervises drug purchases, inventory, and pharmacy software performance; coordinates with IT on system needs.
• Hires, trains, and evaluates pharmacy staff, ensuring licensure and certifications are up to date.
• Counsels patients on medication use, side effects, and interactions, referring to providers when needed.
• Demonstrating excellent customer service;
• Showing respect to other employees;
• Adhering to standards of privacy;
• Upholds procedures and systems to safeguard the confidentiality of all patient and employee information.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and other medications.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance.

Patient Care & Communication

• Address patient concerns and ensure excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to provide clinical and technical support to optimize patient outcomes.
• Document all communications in company identified system.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Pharmacy Required from an accredited institution.
• PharmD Degree Helpful
• Active and unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of Ohio. Must be in good standing with no restrictions
• Obtain CE credits needed for license renewal as required
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List
• No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a pharmacy setting, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records.
