Role: Launch Engineer

Location: Minth facility @ Lewisburg TN

Duration: Full Time Perm

Bilingual: English & Korean

SUMMARY

The Launch Engineer will facilitate engineering change as well as work with the team to establish best solutions and feasibility. The Launch Engineer will perform cost analysis, time studies, stock management, ECN validation and break point management.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Collect and understand the needs of the plant, including materials, process implementation, automation, error proofing, equipment, floor layout and labor; amongst other responsibilities
2. Analyze the program investment
3. As a representative of the plant, participate in reviewing drawings/math data, processes, tooling/equipment design
4. Identify and cultivate means to avoid risk in program development
5. Understand the tech specification of the new equipment investment to ensure equipment and layout will be ready and efficient for production
6. Lead equipment/tooling buy off
7. Manage the in-plant tuning, tooling and equipment plan (floor layout, utility supply, and people support management); track open issues list
8. Organize the plant for preparation of materials, labor, production planning, production line, and WIP racks
9. Plan the trail productions and sample submissions
10. Assist the team to resolve the issue from trial production, achieve the capacity, appearance, dimension and cost target
11. Update the documents to production version, including, Control plan, WI, PFMEA, Flowchart etc.
12. Assist the PPAP process to get PSW approval

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience required
2. 10+ years of Launch experience required, preferably in an Automotive Manufacturing environment
3. Knowledge of materials (plastics and metals) preferred
4. Must have automotive interior and exterior experience, preferably with plastic injection, two shot injection, roll forming, stamping, and aluminium extrusion
5. Strong technical ability with knowledge of materials and manufacturing and assembly processes
6. A high level of self-motivation for action
7. Strong communication, presentation and organization skills
8. Ability to directly interact with customers while providing a professional image
9. Good interpersonal skills
