The Opportunity:

Fujitsu General America, Inc. (FGAI) has been making the hottest places cool and the coolest places more comfortable for 50 years now. We provide high quality heating and cooling solutions to meet just about any need, backed by the support of individuals like you! FGAI has an HVAC Director of Training and Development opportunity in the growing HVAC industry. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive HVAC training programs for technicians, sales professionals, and leadership teams. Training content will focus on Fujitsu AIRSTAGE and other branded products, their installation, service, and troubleshooting. The primary intent and focus of the training will be to support the sales and promotion of FGAI’s products through our distribution network and as directed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Training team’s work to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Regularly evaluate employee performance, set goals, provide feedback and recognize achievements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Train new hires and provide ongoing training and development opportunities

What You'll Do Every Day:

  • Develop and execute a strategic HVAC product training and development plan aligned with company goals (e.g. new product introduction).
  • Oversee the design, delivery, and evaluation of training programs and modules for HVAC technicians, sales teams, and leadership staff.
  • Develop onboarding programs to accelerate new hire proficiency in HVAC product knowledge
  • Establish technical training standards for HVAC equipment, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Work closely with department heads to identify skill gaps and develop targeted learning solutions.
  • Manage e-learning platforms, in-person workshops, and hands-on technical training sessions.
  • Ensure compliance with HVAC industry regulations, certifications, and safety training requirements.
  • Lead a team of trainers and instructional designers to execute training initiatives.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust programs accordingly.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.
  • Stay up to date with the latest HVAC technologies and training methodologies.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred
  • 10+ years in the HVAC industry including training, materials development, content creation.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and excellent communication skills while representing the Fujitsu brand.
  • EPA 608 refrigerant certification for handling refrigerants required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint).
  • Technical background with ability to understand and teach the HVAC refrigeration cycle, airflow, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record of developing successful training programs for technical and non-technical roles.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and digital training tools.
  • Ability to analyze training metrics and make data-driven decisions.
  • Bi-Lingual in English and Spanish, both verbal and written for technical content a major plus.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., CPTD, ATD) is a plus.
  • Editing of graphics, video, and audio is a major plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Up to 50% travel including overnight and occasionally weekends to various training locations across the U.S. and Canada.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Active work that involves moving objects up to 50 pounds or more (i.e., Standing for up to 8 hours, moving, lifting, installing, and servicing HVAC equipment and demonstrating these abilities to others.)
