Job Description

Swoon is partnering with a Fortune 100 industry leader to hire a Business Intelligence Developer for a one-year, onsite contract opportunity based in Peoria, IL. This role offers strong potential for extension or conversion based on performance and plays a critical part in supporting enterprise-wide analytics and reporting needs. The selected candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable Power BI solutions and actionable insights using Snowflake and modern BI tools. With a focus on enhancing the Machine S&OP process, this is a high-impact role ideal for a highly analytical developer with strong attention to detail and a passion for data-driven decision-making.

Job Description:

  • The Business Intelligence Developer will be tasked with examining business challenges and creating analytical reports by utilizing data from multiple sources to offer insights to decision-makers.
  • This role will report to the Digital Product Manager and collaborate with enterprise teams to deliver analytic solutions.

Job Duties:

  • Work with business partners to understand business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for reporting applications
  • Utilize programming languages like Snowflake to prepare data using ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) framework for building reports
  • Build automated reports using Power BI
  • Implement Row-level security (RLS) and write DAX expressions suitable for reporting needs
  • Prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy reports into production
  • Present project status and insights to Senior leaders and advisors

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of business insights and visualization experience
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with Power BI, Power Query, DAX, SQL, Power BI Gateway and administrative tasks
  • Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse and SnowSQL
  • Experience performing data analysis, data modeling and database development in support of BI projects
  • Highly organized and strong attention to delivering high quality work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating across teams

  • The job function includes data collection and analysis; development, validation, application of related digital technologies to curate insights
  • Challenges include meeting expectations in delivering results, learning to refine solutions to better fit complex situations, making timely decisions, and communicating effectively with all project stakeholders.
  • Working directly with business partners to understand their information needs and create reporting solutions that ultimately help drive business decisions
  • Working with other application support groups on the integration and rationalization of disparate data sources
  • Prototyping, developing, and testing of reporting solutions produced
  • Designing and implementing processes, standards, or improvements, to aid in development and support
